Electric Scooter Australia (ESA) Warranty Policy

At Electric Scooter Australia (ESA), we are committed to delivering high-quality, reliable electric scooters that meet Australian safety and compliance standards. All products come with a manufacturer-backed warranty, giving you peace of mind when you shop with us.

1. Warranty Coverage

ESA warranties apply to the following:

  • Electric Scooters – Covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.

  • Batteries & Chargers – Covers defects affecting charging, performance, or safety.

Warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Misuse, neglect, or improper maintenance

  • Accidents, collisions, or water damage

  • Modification or repair by unauthorised parties

2. Warranty Duration

  • 1 Year Warranty: Frame, motor, controller, and main body of any electric scooter purchased from ESA.

  • 6 Months Warranty: Batteries (from date of purchase).

  • 1 Year Warranty: Chargers (from date of purchase).

3. Warranty Service Terms

  • Repairs within 10 days of purchase: Covered under warranty, including shipping (both ways).

  • Repairs after 10 days of purchase: Customer is responsible for shipping fees (to and from our service centre).

  • ESA may, at its discretion, ship replacement parts (including batteries or components) directly to customers along with a step-by-step video guide. Customers choosing this option must pay the standard shipping fee for parts.

4. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover consumables, wear-and-tear items, or misuse. Excluded items include:

  • Tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, brake levers, brake discs, and plates

  • Throttle

  • Plastic components (charging ports, handlebar switches, flaps, covers)

Warranty is void if the product has been damaged due to:

  • Incorrect usage, poor maintenance, or unauthorised modifications

  • Use under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or unsafe conditions

  • Water damage (our scooters are not waterproof)

  • Use of non-genuine parts or unauthorised configuration changes

  • Commercial use, rental services, competitions, or freight/towing

  • Storing the battery uncharged for more than 15 consecutive days

  • Exceeding maximum load or riding in unsafe/high-impact conditions

5. Battery Warranty

  • Battery warranty is covered for 6 months, with expected annual capacity deterioration of 25–30%.

  • Customers acknowledge that battery capacity may reduce to 75–85% after 1 year, depending on usage and care.

  • ESA will repair or replace a battery core if deterioration significantly exceeds this rate, provided the battery was used in accordance with warranty conditions.

  • If battery deterioration or damage is caused by general wear and tear beyond expected usage, or by conditions outside warranty coverage, the customer will be required to pay a nominal service charge for repair or replacement.

6. Factors That Accelerate Battery Deterioration

  • Overloading (exceeding the rider or max load limit)

  • Exposure to moisture, humidity, or saltwater environments

  • High heat or prolonged sun exposure (e.g., inside a car)

  • Storing the battery without charging/discharging for more than 15 days

7. Safe Battery Use & Charging Instructions

To maintain warranty coverage and ensure safety, customers must:

  • Charge the battery after each use (no need to fully discharge first).

  • Allow the battery to cool for 30 minutes after riding before charging.

  • Charge in a ventilated space away from flammable materials.

  • Use only the original charger supplied by ESA (third-party chargers void warranty).

  • Avoid leaving the battery charging overnight or unattended.

  • Recharge or discharge the battery at least once every two weeks when not in use.

  • Stop using the product and contact ESA immediately if unusual smells, noises, overheating, or moisture exposure occur.

8. Repair & Replacement Under Warranty

  • Faulty products will be repaired at no cost to the customer.

  • If repair is not possible, ESA will replace the product with a new or equivalent model.

  • ESA covers shipping costs for warranty replacements.

9. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a claim:

  1. Contact ESA via email or phone with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos/videos if possible.

  2. Warranty is non-transferable and limited to the original buyer on record.

  3. Ship the item to our Australian warehouse for assessment.

  4. Initial shipping costs are paid by the customer.If the item is confirmed faulty under warranty, ESA covers return shipping and repair/replacement.

  5. If not deemed faulty, the customer bears all shipping costs both ways.

All claims are assessed by our Australian-based in-house team in line with Australian Consumer Law.

10. Australian Consumer Law

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Nothing in this policy limits, excludes, or replaces any rights or remedies you may have under the law, including the right to a refund, repair, or replacement in the case of a major fault.
